Dad's BMW
Josh came to us with his dad’s BMW R75/5 that he bought brand new in the 70s. Other than Josh, it was dad’s pride and joy. Unfortunately he suffered a stroke and was no longer able to ride it. Josh contacted us to help him complete his mission of making it run again and updating it with just a few touches while dad was still around to see it. Mission accomplished!
The Wicked Stepchild
Another Yamaha XS650 and in the personal collection. Ben had procured the bike for a client who then backed out. At that point he only owned a HD Road King and thought it was time to have his own cafe. But who has time to do that kind of build when you’ve just started a business that is exploding? So with a little extra patina, some clear coat, new seat and tires, it was done enough. This rat rod cafe racer screams and turns heads…just like a wicked stepchild.
The Addict
We love XS650s! They're nimble and beastly at the same time and are stunning cleaned up, patinaed, cafed, choppered and we've even seen a combo of both. Named for the client's addiction to bikes and heavily in the Yamaha family, stay tuned for the "Street Trac" coming in 2025 and built for the same owner.
Other XS650s-
1977 Blue Patina "The Wicked Stepchild"
1978 White classic Yamaha Cafe- we modified seat and electronics
Elina's Edition
Built for a client from Chicago who owns Elina's Italian restaurant, the colors were chosen by Ben to reflect the decor of the home of some of the best food in Chicago. It has a custom gorgeous green with a pale gold lace overlay on the tank, custom made fenders and brackets, MADD exhaust and touches of gold throughout.
The Phoenix
The first of many Honda CB750 builds, it quickly became one of our favorite cafe platforms. Named for our client rising from difficult times in his life, we get a tickle from his continuous IG posts of getting this stunning bike out for exercise.
The Graduate
A present from his dad for his high school graduation, this bike came to us in pieces and came together beautifully with it's all American color schematic and classic Firestone tires. The CB400 Super Sport is a highly sought after bike and this one honored the client and the roots of the bike. It has been featured in Milwaukee's Mama Tried show and was revealed for the first time to it's owner at The Handbuilt show in Austin, TX.
The Showstopper
This gorgeous green beauty was originally just another one of our cafe bikes until the client called and said he wanted it to be in shows. That changed everything! With custom exhaust from MADD, a GSXR conversion and MotoGadget electronics and custom leather seat being just a few of the details. It made it's show debut at MotoBlot in Chicago and went home to Texas via the Handbuilt Show.
The Choppa
Another Ben and Jess collaboration, this bike was our first non-cafe racer and stretched us way out of our comfort zone. The raw metal patina tank has a clear glitter coat and contrasts the leather seat and bronze accents in a very one of a kind combination.
Black Ops
Built for a Green Beret in Long Beach, CA. Ben and Jess' inaugural road trip just 6 months into their relationship. They knew it would make 'em or break 'em. Between meeting amazing client Dave and receiving a Military Challenge coin and the delusional laughter of 32 hours in a car together, the business and life partnership was meant to be.
The Payoff
After building a BMW for another client, Ben had a goal of having his own in garage. Getting to buy and build his own was a notch in the belt of the road to success, thus its name.
The Doc
This bike will forever hold a special place in our hearts in remembrance of a client and big fan and doctor from NYC that lost his life way too young from an unknown heart issue.
"The Italian" job
Built together while Jess was in riding school, it had been in a few shows and is a head turner. Its namesake? Jess' Italian heritage and maiden name of Lucchesi.
